Posts: 1 05/11/11 05:18 PM	Tags : None I did a fieldstone look patio--taped off design, trowel down finish, colored with Ultra stone and sealed with 2 coats WCS. I was trying to be creative and made different tones/colors, the customer apparently would prefer a more even look and just plain more color in some places. Yes, I am a newby with background in faux finishing. Now I need help in knowing what I can use on top of wcs to adjust the color or if I can color wcs with pcc? Thank you!

Posts: 614 05/13/11 12:54 PM	Depending on the color combinations of your stones you could also use reflector in the css and go over the wcs as well. Just do a couple of small samples with it to show the customer before you do the application. Posts: 66 05/14/11 11:35 AM	You can re-color with Ultra Stone it will take. Just be prepared for it to get a little darker. We were having a lot of problems with color disappearing from our overlays last summer. Ended up with fading and white circles after sealing with WCS. Usually callbacks the next day. Posts: 306 05/14/11 07:45 PM	you can go over wcs with css as the guys above said , if this were my job this is what I would do. I would get some Hydra Stone and mix with a little CSS and lacquer thinner and rag it on for a save and then seal with 2 coats of 1.5 to 1 CSS Just get the color you need. Please dont practise this as a rule but always use Hydrastone reducer for coloring...but this way you will probably get paid soon. Try a sample first.

Posts: 3270 05/22/11 10:42 PM	You really don't want to add Portion Control mixed with Ultra stone on top of sealer. Mixed in WCS would more than likely be the way to go. You'll have to play with the amounts to get a translucent color tinting. You could sponge different colors on if you got that artsy itch. gene ec-Indy

Posts: 7 03/04/12 02:40 PM	I never replied to all the feedback! Thank you all for your feedback! I added PCC to the WCS and it came out fantastic. As a matter of fact, I have been adding a little color into the WCS on all the jobs that I use it. It gives that final unifying touch similiar to my faux finishing glazes I am used to using.
