I had a 2 pager typed up and lost it. Not going to retype. Here are the high points:

jdubs and scratchcoat, you're way off. but right about EC not "officially" standing by the procedure.
officially, the product goes on concrete. if you want to put it on other stuff, there will be no "official" word on this. Only advice from guys with experience doing it.

CCF - If you don't want to listen to those of us that have such experience, then don't. No one is going to try to convince you of anything. We're not your secretary, we're not typing up your spec, or standing behind your work. Your a big boy - you can do that yourself. If other companies did that for you, and that's what's important to you - go back to them. I told you the last time you called me that Simon has all the same answers, and to call him. That's why I ignored your last VM to me, and instead contacted Simon, who said he called you. If you have questions, call him back, don't come on here acting like a jilted customer.

As for the epoxy method - 1 gal per 50 sqft and fine silica to rejection. This is the way I recommend you roll with troweled overlays. For stamped overlays, I'd put down the lathe. With a thin troweled overlay, the epoxy is much better. Same principle in play that allows you to bend and shake a sample board with thin finish on it without cracking it at all.....but you do the same thing with a stamped board, and it cracks like crazy. Thin material won't crack, thick material will. If you have to be a min 1/4 for stamped, then put lathe and TP down first, that's the way to go. But if you are troweling 1/8" TF system, you can't beat epoxy/silica. I have two floors over wood in my home. One with lathe has some deflection cracking - the other with epoxy/silica base ZERO cracking. Have had contractors use this method without any issues many times, never a call back. Have had guys get called back on lathed jobs -sometimes the deflection crack takes on the repeating S shape of the lathe..not pretty.

Again, just experienced based advice - take or leave it. Quit asking for promises from the factory. If you're nervous, do what you want.
