I like the way you are going to market, this will get you a lot of attention.  You might try to use a scribing tool to make the grid cuts you are working on.  They are available by several manufacturers and are very affordable. 

This is a Marshalltown tool.  Use a nice straight edge and always cut out from a line or intersection so you don't blow out your corners.

Somewhere between an hour and half a day works well.  If you wait overnight your lines will likely be made with a diamond blade on a grinder and at that point tape will likely need to be chiseled off with a straight screwdriver unless there is very very little material over the tape.  There are a lot of color masters that guru on this forum, I am not necessarily one of them but I can help a little.  When making small batches of Ultra Stone Stain remember that 1 ounce of color is equal to 30 ml of the same color.  Reduce all parts in proportion and when you have to reproduce the color on a project it will be close to your sample.  I use the leftover medicine syringes that my kids get from the pharmicist at Kroger (no needles), they are also available at Tractor Supply and Pet's Mart or similar pet stores.  The Rod Father can help you more with this too.
