What are you talking about? I ship to most all my installers unless they are close and can pick up. Not sure what you are trying to say.. Now a lot of times, I will have tools sent from HQ instead of boxing them up from my place because it is actually less expensive to the contractor to have HQ just throw it on there shipment than me sending it out separately. I figure out the best deal for them and go that route. gene

What I'm, talking about is, my distributor doesn't ship. I have to kill 4-5 hours picking it up. Just wondering what others experiences are. Thanks Gene

OK, I think your distributor would be the one to have that explained.
I think what you are saying is he doesn't ship out of his facility. All of my shipping comes directly from HQ. I ship smaller stuff by way of UPS or some other small carrier. Shipping larger stuff, (pallets) would require an account with a shipping company. Shipping companies give discounts determined on the amount of shipping you do. Plus you have to box it and have a loading dock. Understand that your distributor has a shipping markup on materials sent to him. I add just a little on each item to cover the shipping for walk in pick up. When I place a stocking order, it's normally pretty large to get the tiered discounts. If I had it shipped to me and then shipped it out again, that bag of Thin Finish would cost a fortune. You might ask your distributor to figure costs to have it directly shipped to you from HQ. It would have to a sizable order because of the minimums on weight. (You could have 1 bag of Thin Finish thrown on a pallet but shipping costs would be the same as a full pallet). They kinda have ya by the balls but hey, they need to make money too. Does that make any since to you? When I first started out, I would buy by the pallet. It would take me the whole summer to use it up but I saved a little on each bag doing it this way. Oh, here's a funny story I will share with you. I didn't know Ultrastone came in gallons until I became a distributor. I always purchased it in 5 gallons. You almost get a gallon free by doing this. I guess I figured this out early in the game and kept to it, forgetting about the smaller packaging. I see why the gallon is more convenient because you can just throw your PCC in the jug and put it on the shelf. (I now keep all of my gallon milk jugs for this). gene ec-Indy |

Thanks Gene I appreciate your time answering my question, and sharing your stories...lol And while I have ya, any reason you can't put PCC in CSS? I was just fooling around in the garage and thought I'd try it out.... it seemed to work, for solid colouring.
Also, I've tried registering for the trained section on here but it still says membership pending.... it's been over a week! do you know who I might contact directly to find out what the prob might be? Again Thanks |

Put in another request. As far as using a water based colorant in a solvent based sealer. I tried this way back and wasn't happy. I've left it alone but I'm always up for a retry.
Recently used Reflector Enhancer in our water based epoxy PT3 as a test. Worked really well. One of my contractors did this on a floor. Awaiting photos. He had called and said it came out really cool. gene ec-Indy |
