I was told that it would work but not to do it becuase blacktop is not strong. I did it anyways on my neighbors and my driveway that we share. That was 3 years ago and other than it needs cleaned and resealed it is great. I dont know wny ec wouldnt market this because it really is really good.

Guys EC sticks to most things, I tell you I cant even get it off of some of my tools...but remember it was formulated for concrete and concrete alone..so where we experiment with it and use it and push it to its limits the end result ends up at us..Head Quarters will never tell you ,you could use it on black top cause it was never formulated for that , but Im sure it might work....so if you did it anyways make sure its on your drivway and not the old Grandad down the road who's gonna make your life a misery when the black top fails bringing your ec coating with it.

Go back to your training!! We were taught to prepare concrete and nuetralize the ph so that TF would bond to the concrete and become one.
Most of us work hard to remove oil/grease stains before overlays, so overlaying a surface that is all PETROLEUM products defies logic. That being said, I have done the overlay systems on wood counter tops and such. That is a different animal. 10,000 sq ft of exterior is way to unstable to put your name on. |

and of course why mess with this...for every black top there are 20 to 30 concrete jobs you can bid on ..let it go....but if you insist then there is a company that does a surface for black top called Ash Deck....if you want more info contact me at congoman61@hotmail.com

asphalt cements had oxidized so there were no aromatic oils left & sealer had never been applied,,, pressure washed & rolled on polymer then t/f,,, will look at it this coming wk to ck,,, sealed it w/css,,, came out decently however haven't see it ( or my ' niece ' ) since,,, have to do this quietly so as to not upset my bride, nagzilla
having sealed hgwy/airport jnts for yrs, found we could use fed spec 1614 ( coal tar based mtl ) against asphalt IF the asphalt was oxidized so that gave us a leg up on probability - 10,000 sf would be a gamble best left to others im-n-s-h-fo, tho ! best [the original] never-told-the-rodfather yic-yac ps - don't forget blacktop does crk for various reasons
it is said freedom comes in 4 boxes - soap, ballot, jury, & ammo.
