Deeper red than Brick red? |
Lead | ||
|
Im trying to acheive the look of the brick porch on the splatter texture brochure from elitecrete. I know that there is a sypp red but was wondering if there is a red not so bright but deeper looking. Thanks in advance.

You can always darken your brick red by adding a little charcoal, chocolate or black to it, doesn't take much to deepen it.
On a splatter you can also darken the main color with your highlights. Again highlighting with charcoal, chocolate or black will give it a deeper red look. Hope this helps. Elite Crete Ft. Myers |

To avoid any confusion, we do have PCC - Brick and PCC - Terra Cotta in addition to the SYPP - Red
Here's a link to the PCC color chart. http://elitecrete.com/PDF...tion%20Control%20600.pdf Note, John is absolutely correct that you can darken up Brick w/ PCC-Chocolate or Charcoal or even SYPP-Black and it doesn't take much. |

I am aware of the pcc colors also. I have all the colors. I made a sample of brick red for a customer. They wanted the color that is in the splatter brochure. The terra cotta is too pink and the brick red is too brown. I even added charcoal. How do you think the color was acheived on the pic on back of splatter brochure?

I believe that porch was done by my distributor Gene Keohan in Kansas City, MO. You can reach him and ask what colors he used. His number is 816-941-4588 and tell him Dennis sent you!

Be sure to shake up your bottles off pcc before use.

You're right, you can get a totally different color of red if you don't have the bottle shook up. I had an older bottle or brick red that clumped-up in the bottom of the bottle and I used it for one bag of thin finish and I used a newer bottler of brick red for another bag of thin finish. I had two completely different colors of red in the two buckets.

My distributor told me to have a couple of teenagers show up occasionally and shake the daylights outta my pcc colorants to keep them mixed! Gives them something to do and only cost you a few bucks for those vibrant colors we all love!
