Acid stain just will not dry....

Posts: 1 05/01/10 09:14 PM	Tags : None Stained the floors last night be fore going to bed, woke up expecting to walk around and see how it looks but it was still wet this morning. It is now 9:00 pm the same night, and although the floors have dried a little, there is still a tremendous amount of moisture on top of the stained concrete. It rained last night and most of today so humidity is high, but I'm starting to panic a little.... What is the deal? Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Posts: 2 05/01/10 10:36 PM	I really think it is humidity, I closed down all of our windows and turned on the air conditioner to 60 degrees... ( it's a humid 72 in the house) It's been on for an hour or so and seems to be drying a little quicker. Going to throw another blanket on the bed and see what we have in the morning. It is stained, but everything I have read says to let it dry completely before neutralizing. I really do not know what I am doing, so just looking for ideas. I just figured I could eliminate the humidity with the AC and see what happens then. Thanks for responding, I'll let you know what happened in the morning.

Posts: 734 05/02/10 09:50 AM	Tommy It's not unusual to find wet areas left over from staining in high humidity. If the stain reacted well when you put it down (fizzed like Sprite), then you know you got a reaction with the slab. My suggestion is to pick one of the wet areas in a corner/closet/out-of-the-way spot and neutralize and clean it. Then you'll see if the stain took the way you wanted it to. Posts: 2734 05/02/10 10:24 AM Moderaor in training	Don't walk on a floor that still has reactive acid stain on it. You may leave foot prints. Neutralize it and wash off the residue to see what you have. The oily residue may never dry. We may have an installer near you to assist. gene ec-Indy
