Does anyone know how to remove sodium buildup on brick? I am doing a patio and the customer thinks I know "everthing" ...(she is not all there) regardless, the brick is WHITE and can't get rid of it, tried C.L.R and a powerwasher...nothing happened....any thoughts?

What you are fighting is efflorescence and we use phosphoric acid to help in removing it.
The hard part is that you need water to clean, but that is what is going to bring it back again. There are some efflorescence treatments out there that I doubt as to how well they work. One thing is guaranteed is that no matter what or how well you make it look, that it will return soon enough. There was no proper moisture barrier placed behind the brick before build out. Unless you can somehow stop the source of water from the other side of the wall... |

A lot of times improper weep holes were installed on brick veneers and that causes the moisture to become trapped and it pushes through the brick bringing the salts with it.
