Sealer Too Slippery Need Help |
Lead | ||
|
Hello Everyone, I just finished a small job last week. Today the customer called to say that the sealer it slippery. I did stamp overlay with granite texture and sealed it with CSS 1.5 to 1 mix I know that it is not slippery but the gloss shine can be deceiving. Now I am thinking to put another CSS and throw some sand on top while the sealer is still wet. Is this a good idea or does anyone have any other suggestions. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards, Ed |

Hi Ryan, Great, thanks for your response. I have heard about "shark grip" but I have never used it, probably have seen it around. The job I did was an earthtone beige/brown. My question now is if I use shark grip does it change the appearance of the stamp/stain ? I will go to Sherwin Williams tomorrow and check it out.
Again, thanks Ed |

No, it is such a fine grit you will not change the color.

Shark grip sprays great mixed with CSS. Chapin red sprayer. We did 12,000 sq/ft warehouse with this method. CSS 2:1 with shark grip. Won't change appearance.

I used to use the" chicken throw" process, but the chicken kept getting pissed and walked off and it also left too many feathers on the surface.

Sherwin Williams also has a product that I use: General Polymers 5190. Warren in Houston hooked me up to it and it is much cheaper than shark grip. You can mix it into the css or epoxy at a rate of 1/4 cup per gallon. You can spray or roll it on!
