handful of fiber
7- 5 gallon buckets crushed foam
I have mixed this several times, using enough water for a good mix. Pours well, just wandering the different ideas out there. Thanks, in advance for in put.

what type of crushed foam?
I made some cinder blocks with a mold using sawdust, as an additive, they were about half the weight but they were flammable...yeah, they burned |

achieved by the choice of aggregate & solite's the most common selection,,, once you determine the
flexural, compressive, torsion, & tension strength you need, its not difficult.

Water is the key ingredient, which when mixed with cement, forms a paste that binds the aggregate together. The water causes the hardening of concrete through a process called hydration. Hydration is a chemical reaction in which the major compounds in cement form chemical bonds with water molecules and become hydrates or hydration products. Details of the hydration process are explored in the next section. The water needs to be pure in order to prevent side reactions from occurring which may weaken the concrete or otherwise interfere with the hydration process. The role of water is important because the water to cement ratio is the most critical factor in the production of "perfect" concrete. Too much water reduces concrete strength, while too little will make the concrete unworkable. Concrete needs to be workable so that it may be consolidated and shaped into different forms (i.e.. walls, domes, etc.). Because concrete must be both strong and workable, a careful balance of the cement to water ratio is required when making concrete. ============ Low Price DVD & Blu-Ray Box Sets ink cartridges discounted

I feel like this guy ate an ACI manual and chased it down with discounted ink while watching a low priced DVD (blue ray) and then vomited all over the Concrete Countertop Forum. Yuk ! I hope this spam yak doesn't contaminate our water/cement ratio.

I like the idea of using foam..however, one a concrete counter top..it might bite you..styrofoam melts pretty easy..if you laid a hot pan on a counter top with foam..you could end up with some voids that might fail after a while..this is just my speculation on the subject.

Use perlite (available at a nursery supply) it is light weight, non flammable( its volcanic rock) and strong enough for the strucural stability. I used it as insulating concrete for my brick pizza oven. You will need to either put in a layer of conventional first or top it with a slurry of you plan to polish or stain as perlite will show through and be spotty.
Good Luck Scott ps still use the fiber in fill layer |

Do a search for ceramic bubbles. Ive only done a few tops but add the bubbles to tp along with the fiber and you can save about 30 percent of the wieght. I will find my notes and post the ratios.
