Posts: 3 02/20/07 08:00 PM	Tags : None To you folks that have been in the business a while, which manufacturer do you think offers the best training and support for concrete stamping and staining? I've gone to a couple and so far are I am pleased with Increte. I have heard that their products are quite expensive compared to others. Any ideas as to others that I might check out? Thanks... Mike

Posts: 3589 02/20/07 08:40 PM	Increte had an early hole shot out of the gate. With arrogance setting in and their nose high in the air, many of the latter hot dogs surpassed them. Their thinking is still the name will carry them. You're buying a name. An old one at that. I wont get into who is better because you have dropped in on an overlay board. True some of us still do stamped concrete but the main focus of this meeting of minds is to promote overlays, Elite Crete Systems in particular. You should take a long walk around and check it out. As more and more contractors step up into stamped concrete, the pricing is falling and the whores are at the door. Our system is the next step above that. Check it out. The range of possibilities is much wider than the "regular" stamped stuff. Training is very reasonable, start up costs are low and basically the skies the limit. Pretty cool stuff. I've stopped the grey concrete and I'm thinking the stamped will disappear soon. I just can't spread myself that thin. gene indycrete.com

Been to a truck load of seminars and heard more sales pitches that I can stand to bare and I am a true elite crete i bleed bluer. The support and products are the best and second to no one. I get a lot of laughs walking about the world of concrete and listening to all the ex car salesman. I let them try a pitch and I quickly knock it down with something I learned from ec or here and they are left speechless. Of course they just think I am some smartass but it sure it fun.

If it not be for their great distributor network and wonderfully engineered products, Greg and Ken (trainer-tech dudes)would be ready to pull their hair out. Beware of alot of these "new companies". I was solicited by e-mail the other day. The dude claimed our cementious polymer ovelay will stick to hardest smoothest porcelin, ceramic, marble, granite with no preparation of the substrate. That is the biggest crock. I have seen a dozen jobs were some fly-by night guy did a splatter or trowel over the above named substrates and it always ends in failure. It might stick a few months to a year but it will pop off for there is nothing there to hold it down, it really has nothing to bond to, the surface of the substrate is just to tight. Elite is definately the way to go. After you research the other companies you will find some have decent products but have no where near the quality of product, distributor support, tech support, years of engineering behind their products and of course this website. The difference is, the actual manufacturers come and assist. They do not just carry one particular manufacturers line, it's a wide variety of products. You should check them out.

Posts: 1581 03/14/07 01:06 PM	a response but can't let concretegirl's flaw'd reasoning stand,,, no one can match eliteCrete's distributor base, knowledge, or products imo,,, largely, the reason's corporate philosophy more'n anything else,,, eC's distributors're head & shoulders above any others,,, specific knowledge from hands-on experience & the willingness to mentor trumps all the rest. from what i could find, cimarron wholesale's operat'd by the stamp store & offers several brands of mtl/systems,,, might be confusing to a newbie,,, isn't one MUCH better off finding a brand offering the most proven range of products for decorative conc & thin-stamp'd overlays like eC ? ? ?,,, not to mention there're so MANY distributors available across the usa & the world,,, finding a solution when you encounter a problem's priceless,,, our distributors're EXCLUSIVELY eC - nuttin' else on the shelf to confuse anyone. even the fact this forum exists should tell you something 'cause no one else has it,,, & other'n the 'train'd contractor' list, its public,,, training costs're largely irrelevant once one enters the trade,,, BUT, when investigating suppliers, training classes can be a significant expense - just another consideration so choose wisely. we look'd at 15 & winnow'd that to 5,,, then, out of the blue, ray brooks in sd recommend'd including eC,,, when you train w/eC, you ARE training w/the manufacturer - you ARE buying from the manufacturer - you DO form a relationship w/the manufacturer,,, there's never heard 'this brand or that brand' is available,,, so we talk'd, train'd, & never look'd back. know eC won't release the numbers but many other decorative artisans've switch'd to eC just because of the above, too,,, good luck in your search. best [the original] yic-yac [EDIT NUMERO UNO] coincidentally, cimarr*n brochure arriv'd yesterday & a separate mailer touting a new countertop mix,,, same address for both + stamp store,,, if i had to guess, ALL their products're private-label'd for them,,, the guy did make conc const's top 10 most influential, tho. ,,,NEVER meddle in the affairs of a dragonfor you are crunch & taste good with ketchup (jeaux welch) Last Edited By: southerneliteCrete 08/12/08 02:49 AM. Being an ex user and stamp store product and scofield product I can assure you that the service alone is a reason to stay with EC. Forget about even talking about product quality which EC is the best. Fact is some people preferred yugo cars over gm about 20 years ago too. But not now.

All joking a side, you will really enjoy our products. Keep on your toes in class, ask questions, get dirty. The learning curve isn't that steep but paying attention in class, taking notes, reading the binder and CALLING your distributor when you have doubts will shorten that curve considerably.
