There are pros and cons for all flooring. Like you said, this looks much better than tile. Not just a little, but a lot. Can it be scratched, of coarse. Everything can be, even a diamond can be with another diamond. Some sealers are better than others. Urethanes are very scratch resistant, which is why they use them on hardwood. A lot of factory finished hardwood is now adding aluminum oxide to the urethane for even more added scratch resistance, which can be done with concrete, too. The difference is, most of the time, a layer of epoxy is used prior to the urethane. This is not done on hardwood. Epoxy is super tough and it would be a challenge to gouge it deep enough to damage the concrete stain or coloring, unlike wood. But like faux said, treat it like a hardwood floor by putting felt pads on the bottom of furniture and dont grag sharp heavy items across it. Tile has its own drawbacks, like grout. The stuff is very porous so anything that touches it will soak right in forever, including urine, it stains easy and cracks and falls out. While the tiles themselves are usually good, the weak point in the system is the installation. Movement under the tiles may cause entire pieces to come loose and pull up. Concrete just tends to crack with super easy cleanup and no staining. Use EliteCrete products or go with the tile. Inferior products will give you nothing but trouble.
