I am going to recolor a driveway that the customer acid stained and sealed. The sealer is solvent based. My intentions are this, tell me if I am wrong. I am going to roll xylene on the sealer to tack it up. Then I want to spray on css with Reflector enhancer (coffee) color. I know that RE doesn't suspend as well in css and since it is thinner that I wont achieve the same mottling. So i was going to spray it on in 2 coats lightly so it will cover well (some of the aggregate is slightly exposed on this driveway...which is why his acid stain did go dark enough). If i spray the css lightly and keep the RE agitated then it should stay on top of the little variations in the surface and color it all. the I was going to spray a third coat on heavier so the the RE can run a little and gather to create the mottling.
What I want is to have the color in that image above. I need the mottling and light and dark areas.
Will that work?
Stripping the driveway or grinding and starting over isn't an option. So I am stuck with whatever I can do with the sealer.
