Needed something to cut score lines with, so i took my 4" Makita duck taped a piece of 3/4" wood on the handle for depth, then hooked up a dimmer switch outlet to slow the RPM down. this worked so good, I almost had to set on my hands to keep from clapping! I've been making some sample boards looking to land that first real job. Had some trouble with the stamps sticking, not sure if stamps are not conditioned right, use to using powder release not clear print.I wet the boards and it seamed like the top stayed wet for a long time, an hour or more any thoughts?

Small 500 sq ft reflector enhancer basement floor. Colors were ciro,brass, coffee, charcoal for the base coat the veins were charcoal and lilac.

some old cracked concrete at a private school, owner asked me to work with the cracks. So heres what we did ....dark grey base coat , followed the cracks with tape and spray texture with light grey and black and white high lights..came out kinda cool.

Ill need to resize this photo ..WELL I got it done here is the big photo..steps are still wet in some parts. but you get the picture.

what is the best method of making joint's? tape, 4" grinder grout tool. I made a couple of sample boars last night, first one I used a 1/2" metal banding material hand tool.It took a long time and material was hard. How long should you wait before making lines. Second one I used 4" grinder went fast but need to have a steady hand for straightness and depth

Have built up a few more floors under my belt and with each one getting better. These are all in my own building that I have been using for testing to get really good with the products.

Bedroom 1- Charcoal TF & MF, Gunmetal base coat, Blue (white powder one), center is charcoal. Also has some Moss scattered around. Was trying to give it an outer space look.

Bedroom 2- Salmon TF & MF, Russet base coat

This is my favorite so far. Its a small hall way. Charcoal TF & MF, Orange Gold, Brass and a little Cairo.

Driveway Trowel Down

On Friday, I finished-up a 2000 sq ft project (driveway pad, front porch, east sidewalk, north sidewalk, north patio, 3 season room, and partial flake epoxy on garage floor. Here are some of the before & after trowel pictures:

This is my first attempt at a trowel down, someone else stained this patio with horrible results. Customer told me it started to flake within 6 months and they refused to fix it. I spent 6 hours grinding off about 250 sq. ft. then for some reason I took off the vacuum and put a water hose on it while grinding and finished the rest off about 600 sq. ft in about 2 hours. Put down TF and then taped and troweled it down, after it dried I hand ground with a brick rub the whole surface which gives me the dark veins. Customer loved it and have done several more the same way. Tell me what you guys think.

Did this one in Roanoke Indiana a couple of weeks ago (also did their front porch and had to remove indoor/outdoor carpet - 6 1/2 hours of grinding glue and several layers of paint - fun!).

Very simple walkway. .5oz charcoal trowel. Hand scribed random ashler look. Used 1oz charcoal in 1 gal of water to antique. Here are the results.

400 sq ft trowel 1st job while trying to work 50 + hrs. 1st coat us was to light for customer, sprayed second coat and sealed.

got in a hurry to show customer for a bid,
painted one hardi backer tan the other terre cotta,
let dry in sun an hour,
laid on old peice carpet inside,
outside temp at 11 am was only 107,
inside with AC on full blast was 76,
anywho's........
hurriedly mixed some epoxies with gunmetal, brass and moss.
poured out seperately in three areas on TAN hardi backer,
let set thirty minutes, rolled over it with a paint roller,
trying to FLIP reflector,
mean while i mixxed the brass and moss, 1 part brass , three parts moss,
poured this mixture onto the terre cotta hardi backer,
had a little left over, poured onto other sample, rolled over entire n board,
covered the gunmetal almost completely except in dimples...
i am guessing i shoulda took time to skim a couple coats first....
second sample shows bleed of hardi texture....
dont know if it was due to thinner ap, or lighter mixture of reflector????

Replaced some steps and then overlayed the whole sidewalk and patio. The original concrete was over 90 years old. Here are some pics.
